I saw autumn crocus blooming last fall in a friend's garden and would like to try some. When should I plant them?

Plant autumn crocus (Colchicum) in summer, after the leaves have completely died down. If you're transplanting them, be sure to mark their location when you can see the foliage. Once it disappears, the bulbs are hard to find until they bloom in fall.
