Preserving Cut Flowers
There’s nothing like fresh flowers around the house especially when they come from your own garden. To help you enjoy your treasures as long as possible cut flowers in the morning or early evening. Use stem cutting shears or sharp pruners. Snip above a node or dormant bud to spur new buds on the plant. Set stems gently in a pail of lukewarm water as you gather your bouquet. Keep flowers in fresh, lukewarm water, never cold, changing regularly. Fresh cut flowers can benefit from a dose of Schultz Rose & Flower Preservative, sold in our greenhouses.
