2003 Plant of the Year:
Shasta Daisy “Becky”
Leucanthemum x superbum ‘Becky’

Gardeners have long valued daisies of all types as excellent additions to borders. ‘Becky’ has proven to be superior to other daisies due to its robust habit and outstanding performance earning it this year’s Perennial Plant Association’s Plant of the Year Award.

From summer through fall, this hardy daisy produces large white flowers on long, leafless stalks. It tolerates hot, dry conditions making it very easy to care for. The long stems make it a great cut flower and are strong enough to hold up after heavy rains. This versatile plant can be grown as a specimen, en mass in a perennial border, in naturalistic landscapes, butterfly gardens and even in large containers. It grows best in full sun but tolerates part shade. Don’t over water. Deadheading encourages reblooming.
