Traditional Fresh-Cut Trees
Seasonal Decorating Suggestions from Gale’s Holiday Greenhouses & Nursery

This year millions of American families will celebrate the holidays with the fragrance and beauty of a fresh-cut Christmas tree. The enduring tree symbol, which is even older than Christianity and not exclusive to any one religion, remains a firmly established part of our holiday customs. A beautiful, fragrant Christmas tree engages our senses of sight, touch, and smell, and evokes feelings of joy in both young and old. If you’re selecting a fresh-cut tree for your holiday celebrations here are a few of our traditional favorites:

Noble Fir: With its cool blue-green, well-spaced branches and densely set, upwardly curved needles, this tree is aptly named.

Scotch Pine: A classic conical shape and excellent needle retention make this a popular cut tree.

Fraser Fir: A regal, richly fragrant native tree with bicolor needles -- deep green on top, silvery white below. Its generally slender profile suits small rooms.

Douglas Fir: Boasting a pyramidal shape and blunt, blue-to-dark-green needles, Douglas fir is a dependable cut tree.

Holiday Note: Our hand-cut selection of fresh trees & greens arrive Thanksgiving week!
